Beef Between Rappers Noted In Recent Court Hearing

In a hearing over XXXTentacion's murder, the rumored tension between the Florida rapper and Drake was highlighted

The alleged beef between hit Canadian-rapper Drake and the deceased Florida-artist XXXTentacion was focused upon at a hearing for the latter's murder trial. The grudge between the two celebrities appeared to begin in 2017 when XXXTentacion, real name Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, accused Drake of stealing his material for his "God's Plan" video, though this accusation never escalated further. However, fans of Onfroy took to his social media and scoured his profiles following his death in 2018, eventually finding a tweet reading "“If anyone tries to kill me it was @champagnepapi."

No evidence has risen to implicate Drake in XXXTentacion's death, but this hasn't deterred three suspects in the deceased rapper's murder trial from mentioning the Canadian artist. The suspects-Michael Boatwright, Dedrick Williams, and Trayvon Newsome-appeared in court and demanded that Drake submit a written deposition, along with XXXTentacion's mother Cleopatra Bernard be forced to provide her earnings that followed after her son's death. The court ruled in favor of receiving Bernard's earnings, but denied the request of a deposition from Drake.
