Drake's appearance at the Dreamville Festival this past weekend was accompanied by some bombastic guest-appearances and a touching tribute to J. Cole
Drake's appearance at the Dreamville Festival this past Sunday (Apr. 2nd) was quite a grand conclusion to a memorable weekend.
The Canadian icon took the stage after J. Cole's almost-hour long performance to perform his hottest tracks through his career, but he was not alone in thrilling the crowd. Drake invited GloRilla and Lil Uzi Vert to the stage to deliver their respective breakout songs "F.N.F. (Let’s Go)" and "Just Wanna Rock", further hyping up the crowd.
Not quite finish with the surprises, Drake was then joined by Lil Wayne to conduct a duet of "The Motto", followed by the appearance of Her Loss collaborator 21 Savage to perform “Knife Talk” and “Rich Flex".
In one last act to close out Dreamville for the year, Drake invited J. Cole back on stage to present a tribute to the North Carolina rapper in the form of having the audience sing Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" to Cole.
"I’ma play this next song, and if you love this man like I love this man, you’ll sing as loud as you can", Drizzy told the crowd before cuing for Houston's iconic song.
Cole then offered his praise for Drake, declaring "This man right here, bro, I’m such a fan and I feel like I’m speaking for all of us when I say this: we’re all wowed, amazed, blown away by your greatness, bro."
"It gives a n-gga chills to see you do this shit at the highest level nonstop and constantly serve us and bless us with the fucking soundtrack to our lives. I’m blown away by your greatness, bro," Cole continued.
Drake later commemorated this year's Dreamville experience with an Instagram featuring some stunning photos taken at the event presenting him along with his fellow musical stars.
Few may argue that with the success of this year's Dreamville Festival, next year's event has quite a bit to top.
