Lil Durk recently revealed that he cut Kanye West's contributions towards his Almost Famous album
Lil Durk recently revealed that he had cut Kanye West from his latest album despite the "genius" contributions made by the controversial rapper.
While on DJ Akademiks' podcast Off The Record, Durkio claimed that Ye had provided production and vocals to the former's Almost Famous album, but none of what the Chicago artist delivered made it to the final product.
"He actually did my whole album...But I ain’t use it … He, like, tweaked with the beat, he put some vocals behind some beats. He played with a couple records. I’ma say that, he played with a couple records … He did some genius shit," Durk stated regarding West.
Continuing: "I had went to the hotel where he was at. He was actually in a good head space. I guess all the bullshit that was going on with him was getting to him, but he definitely in a good space."
While West's contributions will not be present in Almost Famous in it's current form, Durk did however tease that such content may appear in a future deluxe edition of his latest album should it come to be.
Almost Famous is set to release this Friday (May 25th) and is set to include a number of collaboration with heavy-hitters in the music industry, including J. Cole, 21 Savage, Future, and the late Juice WRLD. Metro Boomin, Wheezy, Alicia Keys, and Southside among others have also had a hand in the project.
