Label CEO Apologizes To The Stallion

The head of Megan Thee Stallion's label Carl Crawford apologized to the Texas rapper in response to a toxic legal battle

Amidst a lengthy-lawsuit, Megan Thee Stallion recently received an apology from her label boss Carl Crawford, CEO of 1501 Certified Entertainment. Since 2019 the two have been engaged in a legal battle after the Stallion sued the label for blocking the release of her music and refusing to engage in contract renegotiations. The lawsuit followed the rapper signing management deal with Roc Nation allegedly without 1501's knowledge.

Megan would issue another issue lawsuit against 1501 in February 2022 in which she requested a judge to declare her 2021 project Something For Thee Hotties an album so her contract requirements would be fulfilled; 1501 CEO opposed this action, declaring the project a "bullsh*t *ss mixtape" and issuing a counter-lawsuit the following month. The Stallion would amend her lawsuit to seek a million dollars in damages while affirming that the release of her August 2022 album Traumazine to meet her contract requirements.

Despite there appearing to be no end in sight for the their legal spat, Crawford expressed remorse for his conduct throughout the whole matter in an interview with TMZ (http://bitly.ws/ARVh).

"Me and Megan, we haven’t talked since 2019...We’ve been going through, I guess, what you guys see online and it’s unfortunate because I never wanted to have a situation where I was, you know, going back and forth with her on the internet," Crawford stated.

He continued, "I never had any problems with Megan Thee Stallion. It’s just the social media stuff, it turned really, really sour. You take this social media part out of it, we don’t have a problem … I’m done with that. You not gon’ hear me mention Megan Thee Stallion name in the media unless I’m doing something like this. You not gon’ see me texting or making a post or doing any of that stuff that would cause social media to go crazy."

Crawford mentions posting a video on Instagram (http://bitly.ws/ARWI) of him and Tory Lanez at a nightclub two years after the latter was accused by Megan of shooting her feet, calling that online posting a mistake. "I normally don’t do stuff like that. I think I just got wrapped up in the whole scheme of things that was going on."
