Rap and Hip-Hop Artist Issues Warnings Regarding Opioids

Boosie Badazz provided his thoughts on the dangers of Fentanyl following the death of Three 6 Mafia member Gangsta Boo

Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, widely-recognized as Three 6 Mafia member Gangsta Boo, sadly passed away January 1st, with reports later surfacing that declare her cause of death to be due to a drug overdose. Though there is no confirmation, there is suspicion over Gangsta Boo potentially dying from using a Fentanyl-laced substance. In response, rapper Boosie Badazz took to social media to share his thoughts on the harm caused by the opioid.

On Twitter, the day of Gangsta Boo's death, Boosie shared a video condemning Fentanyl and offering an alternative to addicts, though he does not specifically mentioned Boo. He stated "“If you go be an addict you might need to go back to crack. Crackheads live longer than anybody, you still see them around." He goes on to further declare that those addicted to crack cocaine are likely to live longer and that the drug is less addictive than Fentanyl, a claim that likely will be met with great contention across social media channels.
