Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have been causing a bit of a buzz by dropping hints of them potentially getting married while at Cannes
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky may have had a secret marriage, or at least, such a development is on the couple's radar.
According to Billboard, Rocky was performing at a Spotify Beach concert in the Cannes Lions Festival Wednesday (June 21st) when, before performing his song "D.M.B.", he shouted out Riri on stage and referred to her as his wife.
"I’d like to dedicate this song to my beautiful wife in the muthafuckin’ building!" Rocky declared.
Of course, speculation would arise in which people are now wondering if this is confirmation from Rocky that he and Rihanna had a secret-marriage and are now officially husband and wife. There are a few other possibilities, however; one being that Rocky could have simply been referencing the very song he was singing, specifically the music video for the track.
In the video, both Rocky and Rihanna are presented, with the former proposing to the "Work" artist using grills on his teeth that spelling out "Marry me" and Rihanna responding with an "I do".
The other possible meaning of the Rocky's comment at the concert is that he was referring to Rihanna as his wife based on his desire to soon marry her, rather than serving as a reveal of them already tying the knot. Such a perception in which partners in a romantic relationship referring to their significant others as "husband" and "wife" despite not being married yet is not uncommon with couples, and could have simply been what had been occurring in the moment of Rocky calling Riri his wife.
The celebrity couple, who are currently expecting their second child, have seemingly been enjoying themselves as relatively-new parents as well as the privacy they have been maintaining as they raise their first child, Rza. Hence why an explicit announcement of marriage may be unlikely. However, there is the possibility that Rocky just felt that the venue and context of the concert was the optimal time to reveal the news of him and Rihanna being married.
As of now, we have yet to recieve any kind of confirmation as to Rihanna and A$AP Rocky being married.
