The Grammy-nominated artist's project to aid disenfranchised communities has taken action
Rapper Saweetie has recently launched a financial literacy that aims to help low-income families learn the basics in managing money and budgeting. The course, called the Icy Baby Foundation and co-founded by Saweetie's grandmother, serves children between ages 7-17, who are given a funded debit card as a part of the course's curriculum. “The long-term goal for the Icy Baby Foundation is to increase financial literacy amongst kids and propel them to brighter futures,” according to Saweetie regarding the program's objective. “I want to continue using my foundation and resources to financially empower young children and students, especially in Black and Brown communities."
