The iconic West Coast artist took to social media to share the news of his induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame
Snoop Dogg was announced Wednesday, Jan, 18th to be an inductee to the 2023 class of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, specifically for hits like "Drop It Like It's Hot", "Nuthin But a 'G' Thing", and "Gin & Juice". Not long after the news dropped, Snoop took to Instagram to express his joy and thanks regarding the announcement. In a posted video, he states, "Just a little kid from the East Side of Long Beach that had a big ass dream. It is true that dreams can come true. If it happened to me, it can happen to you. Keep dreaming, keep believing, keep being you. Keep God in your life. Do more right than wrong. Make your life a song. Thank you.”
Snoop Dogg is one of only five hip-hop artists to have ever been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the others being JAY-Z, The Neptunes (composed of Pharrell and Chad Hugo), Missy Elliot, and Jermaine Dupri. The Doggfather continues to make music, having recently collaborated on the song "I'm From 21st Street" with Dj Drama and Stressmatic and having a video release the same day as his hall of fame announcement.
