Former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight recently alleged that Snoop Dogg had fraudulently purchased the record label
Suge Knight is casting doubt over the legitimacy of Snoop Dogg's purchase of the Death Row Records label.
From behind bars-he is currently in prison serving 28-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter-the co-founder and former CEO of Death Row delivered an interview with TMZ in which he declared the buying of the label by the Doggfather through MNRK Music Group as questionable.
Speaking to TMZ, Knight claims that Snoop's partner in the purchase, Michael Harris, had committed bankruptcy fraud get Death Row. Knight alleges that Harris, his former business partner, acquired the label through forfeit in court when a lawyer failed to appear in court, allowing a default judgement in 2013 transferring the label to MNRK, followed by Snoop becoming the new owner almost a decade later.
Knight, however, believes the bankruptcy proceeding to have been illegal.

First of all, you gotta look at it like this: I am Death Row. So I’m quite sure when it’s said and done... All Eyez On Me and Makaveli will definitely come back to me, and the rest of the stuff," Knight claims.
Continuing: "But one problem with that is: Snoop has a partner, which is Michael Harris. They committed fraud, they bankruptcy fraud. I didn’t lose my company by doing anything wrong; they went in and the lawyer didn’t show up, and they got a default judgement...You can’t commit bankruptcy fraud and settle and do those type of things … It’s called illegal, it’s a crime. You can’t take the person who committed the worst crime of the century, taking Death Row from Black people and try to give it to white people, and think he gonna grab Snoop and they gonna get it back. It doesn’t work like that."
TMZ noted that Snoop Dogg had obviously not been present during the bankruptcy case in 2013, having purchased Death Row in 2022, but such a detail does not seem like it would quell Knight's claims.
Neither Snoop Dogg nor Michael Harris have issued a public response to Knights accusations.
