Nicki Minaj is set to star in a 50 Cent produced animated series "Lady Danger"

Nicki Minaj will be adding a new project to her portfolio soon, but rather than being something for her music fans, this will be a starring role in a new animated show titled "Lady Danger".

Produced by 50 Cent along with Brian Sher, Paul Young, Mike Griffin and Minaj herself, the series will be based off of a Dark Horse comic-book line of the same name. Lady Danger follows a government agent in a futuristic 2075 setting who is left for dead before getting resurrected and becoming a crime-fighting, world-defending super-heroine.

Minaj is set lead the series in the starring role as Lady Danger herself.

This is certainly not the first time the rapper has taken up an acting-role. She performed voice-acting for roles in films The Angry Birds Movie 2 and Ice Age: Continental Drift as well as live-action performances in The Other Woman and Barbershop: The Next Cut.

Minaj's exploits in acting are certainly not as recognized or regarded as her grand career in music, but her participation in a project like this may be worth paying attention to, especially due to the current and ongoing phase of comic-book properties seeing film and T.V. adaptations.

Lady Danger is set to be released on Amazon's streaming platform Freevee, though no air-date has been announced.
